Studebaker's Dozen celebrates Jules's love for latin music, and was largely inspired by a trip to Cuba, early 2003. Whilst there he bought a variety of hand-made percussion instruments, all of which can be heard on this album.
'Angela's Birthday' was written for a friend he met in Cuba, whose sister (Angela, of course) was to celebrate her 40th birthday later that year.
The cover shot was taken on a back street in Havana, and Jules is actually leaning against a Studebaker!
Carl Lewis, drums and percussion, was the only guest on Studebaker's Dozen.
